As part of the Erasmus+ project "Let's do IT," the town of Ozolnieki, Latvia, hosted students and teachers from Romania, Poland, Portugal, and Germany. This mobility focused on the theme “Traditional Dances,” where participants shared and celebrated their countries' unique cultural heritage through traditional dances and music.
Throughout the week-long exchange, students presented folk dances specific to their regions, accompanied by traditional music. Working in two large international teams, they collaborated to create a unique “European Dance” that blended elements from each country's traditional choreography. This final performance symbolized unity, weaving together diverse cultural elements into a cohesive dance that reflected openness to multiculturalism, cultural equality, and social inclusivity.
Alongside the Polish-led “Odyssey for EU” initiative, participants engaged in questing activities through the forests and surroundings of Ozolnieki, exploring local nature and bonding through shared outdoor adventures.
Cultural excursions added further depth to the experience, including a visit to representatives of the Jelgava region, where participants explored the town and its surroundings. A highlight was the visit to Latvia’s capital, Riga, where students and teachers toured the famous concert stadium, museum, and enjoyed a guided exploration of the city’s historic and architectural treasures.
This Erasmus+ mobility in Latvia not only fostered artistic collaboration but also strengthened intercultural friendships and understanding, encouraging a spirit of unity through the shared language of dance and cultural exchange.
